Receive a grant to carry out research and/or teaching in the USA and become part of the history and tradition of the Fulbright Commission.
The Fulbright All-disciplines Postgraduate Awards provide funding for UK citizens to undertake the first year of postgraduate or doctoral study in any field at any accredited US university for a period of 1 academic year.
Grant Benefits
All-discipline awards provide up to $45,000, paid in instalments directly to the grantee. Funding is intended as a contribution towards the first year of tuitition fees and general maintenance costs whilst in the US. A number of memberships, sickness and accident benefit coverage, and visa sponsorship are also included. There is substantial pre-departure support, including a Finalists Workshop (March) and a 2-day Orientation Programme (July).
The award holder will join an impressive group of Fulbright alumni including Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winners. Our alumni enjoy access to a vast network of former Fulbright awardees and participate in a range of cultural and social events.
Fulbright Postgraduate Scholars
In addition to their academic expertise Fulbright Scholars have a commitment to the promoting of peace and cultural understanding between the US and UK. They demonstrate leadership and understanding and initiative both in and outside their profession and show a curiosity to learn about other cultures.
